Courses structure and our Principles

As an indication of our courses broad structure, we refer below to the Commom European Framework of Reference for Languages, which divides learners into three broad divisions which can be further separated into six levels:

Basic Speaker
A1 - Breakthrough or beginner
A2 - Waystage or elementary

Independent Speaker
B1 - Threshold or pre-intermediate
B2 - Vantage or intermediate

Proficient Speaker
C1 - Effective Operational Proficiency or upper intermediate
C2 - Mastery or advanced

Our experience suggests that a block of 10 lessons (15 to 20 hours) is the minimum required for a good learner, in one-to-one classes, to attain the survival level, or to progress from one level to the next. But individual learners will perform very differently from one another. The progress of a particular student can not be predicted until a performance-based assessment takes place, after the third or fourth lesson.
The double of this amount of time will be required to attain the same levels if you are having group classes.
The constant assessment of your progress will enable us to adapt the teaching to your needs and give you a clear feedback of how you are doing at every point of your path.
